from Heather R. Darsie
I am pleased to inform you that after almost four years of research and writing, my new biography entitled, Anna, Duchess of Cleves: The King’s Beloved Sister will be released by Amberley Books of the UK in Spring 2019, with release in the US a few months later.

Anna remains an intriguing woman and important part of Anglo-Continental politics in the 16th century. I researched Anna of Cleves from the German perspective, which fleshes out her life story and her family history. The book features new and forgotten portraits of Anna and her family, plus deeper consideration of her life as a German noblewoman. It gives a description of what was going on in Cleves leading up to her fateful marriage with Henry VIII. The biography seeks to better understand what exactly happened during her marriage to Henry VIII and her subsequent place in society after July 1540.
I do hope you will add, Anna, Duchess of Cleves: The King’s Beloved Sister to your reading list for 2019!
Sincerely,
Heather R. Darsie
